Willmott Dixon supported the planting of 1,732 climate resilient trees across the UK in 2022
As well as committing to becoming zero carbon in their operations by 2030, Willmott Dixon is supporting UK landscapes by planting 1,732 climate resilient trees in Norfolk. These woodlands will conserve and boost local biodiversity and help supply nature-based solutions to climate change. With a variety of species planted, the trees will also increase the woodland’s resilience to pests and diseases.
Looking ahead, Willmott Dixon is also supporting the planting of 300 trees across 3 schools in the Midlands. Creating green spaces in schools and involving the children in planting and learning about the benefits of trees will enhance their education and wellbeing.
GreenTheUK looks forward to working with Willmott Dixon volunteers in Spring 2023, where teams will connect with the outdoors, support woodland management, undertake tree care and create natural wood piles for biodiversity.

Tree Species Planted:
1,732 trees planted in Norfolk, England
The trees planted here have been specially selected for their genetic ability to survive the predicted weather conditions that will be brought about by climate change over the next 50 -80 years. Douglas fir trees take about 50 years to reach maturity and oak trees will take over 100 years. All this time these trees will be taking carbon from the atmosphere and locking it away. Timber from Douglas fir and oak can be used by future generations for building (where it will continue to store carbon) and new trees can be planted in their place.
